Doolittle Family Returns to Give Back

December 31, 2009

The Doolittle family’s first visit to Ronald McDonald House came more than 23 years ago, when their son Garret was born with complications in September 1986. The family spent five and a half weeks at the Ronald McDonald House by OHSU then, and now – 23 years later, the family returned earlier this month to give back.

For her Birthday this year, Brenda Doolittle – Garret’s mom, asked family and friends to collect new pajamas for all ages. The family gathered the pajamas, and brought them to the Ronald McDonald House for current families to wear. Thanks to the Doolittle’s, their comfy gifts kept our families warm and cozy this year during the holiday’s. Thank you for giving back!

Santa makes visit to West House

December 23, 2009

Santa himself took time out of his busy schedule this time of year to visit the Ronald McDonald House West on Monday. He left his sleigh at the North Pole this time, and arrived instead in his sleek red Cadillac.

Once inside the house, Santa took time to meet with families and hand out gifts to children in the living room. We want to thank Mr. Claus for taking time at this busy time of year to think of the children and families at Ronald McDonald House!

Trail Blazers Bring Holiday Cheer

December 15, 2009

The Portland Trail Blazers rededicated their room at the Ronald McDonald House East on Monday, bringing with them holiday cheer and fun activities for families and guests at the house.

A free coffee cart provided hot chocolate and other tasty drinks, while kids and players alike decorated holiday cookies in the kitchen. After the team rededicated their room with a special ribbon cutting, the players handed out Blazer-themed gift bags as early holiday presents to kids in the house.

We want to thank everyone with the Blazer’s organization who came to visit!
