The Newberg Parr Lumber store hosted its first ever Ranch Roping Invitational in July, which raised money for Ronald McDonald House Charities. The event was organized by the store’s staff, including Glenn Aust and Shawn Watson, and featured teams on horseback testing their calf-roping skills in a temporary pen set up across from the store. Teams came from across the area to participate in the event, which also included a BBQ and a $1.00 raffle whose winner took home a 40 foot round pen.
