The Tomlinson family returned to the East House to celebrate Wyatt’s seventh birthday on July 16. The family from California spent more than 4 months at the house when Wyatt was born 3 months premature in 2004. Since then they have returned every other year to celebrate Wyatt’s birthday with current families staying at the house by providing dinner and bringing birthday cake to share.
Wyatt keeps growing each year, and his story is one that can provide encouragement to current families going through similar situations. This year, the Tomlinson’s also took part in the the RMHC Social at Nike’s Tiger Woods Center, sharing their story with the audience about how the Ronald McDonald House helped their family. We wish to thank them for their involvement and continued support!
Happy Birthday Wyatt! Notice the image of Wyatt as a new born next to his dad’s shoulder.
Housekeepers Zina and Vasili have been busy in the backyard at the East House once again this summer – growing a bountiful hope garden full of tomatoes, cucumbers, and bell peppers. The fresh produce heads straight to the kitchen for families to enjoy, while guests are welcome to help with watering and weeding in the meantime. The garden has already produced its first cucumbers of the year, and more fresh vegetables are still ripening on the vine.
Thanks to everyone who took part in the Mike Rich and Friends Present RMHC Golf & Social on July 17 and 18. The two-day event continues to grow and helps raise support for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oregon and Southwest Washington.
More than 400 guests took part in Summer Social at the Tiger Woods Center on the Nike Campus this year, while golfers filled up both courses at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club on Monday afternoon.
Special thanks to presenting sponsor Avamere, the members of RMHC’s Golf Committee, the event staffers at Pumpkin Ridge and Nike, special guests Kate Tweedy and Mark Ciardi, and our dedicated host, Mike Rich!

Each summer, an All Star band of students tours the West Coast, raising money for RMHC in each city it visits. The group ran through classics by Jimi Hendrix, Queen, The Who, and David Bowie, all the way up to modern classics by Radiohead and The Black Keys.
